Hey y'all! I am so happy you're here.
My name is Carris and I am your soon-to-be best friend and personal hype woman behind the camera.
When I first started taking photos a little over five years ago, it was strictly out of enjoyment for capturing some of life’s beautiful moments and helping others freeze these moments in time.
As I continued to take pictures over the years, I started to fall more in love with my craft and working with what I believe to be one of God's most beautiful creations... His people.
In the midst of the pandemic and unwanted downtime, I decided to really put myself out there and officially give my business the attention it needed to be successful and a name to make it official.

When used as a biblical term and spelled differently my first name, Carris or "Charis"
(in this case) means "grace." Capturing Grace felt like the perfect fit. As a believer and follower of Jesus, I feel that my purpose on this earth is to do exactly that.
Capturing grace has meant capturing special moments and special people. And regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, countries of origin, gender identities, sexual orientations, abilities, or disabilities - God's grace is constant and it exists everywhere we look and in everyone we know.
I truly love what I do and who I do it for... which is for anyone and everyone.
When I am not photographing your memories and moments, I am teaching over 100 soon to be teenagers about science and coaching middle school cheerleading. Some of my favorite things in life include being barefoot, iced coffee, tattoos, going to concerts, anything involving true crime, traveling, the smell of clean laundry, reading a good book, tacos, heavy metal music, and quoting movies (my two faves are Bridesmaids or Dumb and Dumber.)

WHAT WE OFFER + DETAILS
Most services offered through Capturing Grace come either as a Classic or Deluxe session. These sessions are based on 30 to 60 minute time slots. Each Classic session’s gallery includes at least 45 edited images and Deluxe sessions include at least 75 edited images. Don't worry though, I will be sure to include every picture worth keeping in your gallery! With each Classic and Deluxe session, you will receive a sneak peek of at least five images within 24 hours of your session. Each Classic and Deluxe session will also include an online, downloadable gallery where you can print and share your edited images.
Printing rights and release are included in the delivery of each gallery and a $75 non-refundable deposit are required at the time of booking regardless of the type of session chosen, unless stated otherwise. Signed contracts are also required for each booking. The remaining amount of your session is due the day of.

WEDDINGS + ENGAGEMENT
SESSIONS
Your wedding day should be all about you, and my goal as a wedding photographer is to provide you with a collection of images and an experience that allows you to relive one of the most cherished days of your life over and over again.
When you book with CGP, you are guaranteed a cake loving and life of the party dance floor fanatic as your photographer for the day.
- Packages start at $2,500
- $500 non-refundable deposit required when booking and the remaining total is due at least a week before the wedding date.

- Complimentary engagement session
- Wedding day coverage will include a maximum 8 hours on your wedding day and any additional hour is $275/hour
- Second shooter provided upon request
- Ceremony or reception location 30 miles or more from my location will require a $100 roundtrip traveling fee
- Lodging may be required depending on location of the ceremony and reception
- Package add on: Add a bridal boudoir session at a discounted rate of $375, including hair and makeup.

BOUDOIR
What's better than giving women the tools and confidence they need to fall in love with their true beauty? Boudoir is a celebration of each and every body. The scars, the blemishes, the stretch marks... everything is a part of your story. And after seeing yourself in the most beautifully vulnerable form, you will leave your boudoir session feeling refreshed, empowered, and unstoppable.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Where are you based out of?
I am based in Rockford, IL. However, I will travel anywhere for my clients... all you have to do is ask! I do charge a $100 traveling fee if you are over 30 miles from my location. If interested in a wedding outside of 30 miles from my location, a destination wedding, or an elopement out of state, a traveling fee as well as a flight and lodging fee must be included to the traveling fee.
Do you offer RAW images?
Easily put, no. As much as I want to meet the needs of my clients, I strongly believe that images I capture that are unedited are not a true or accurate representation of my work.
What is your turnaround time for photos?
It can take anywhere between a week and sometimes a month for gallery delivery, depending on time of the year. The fall and spring seasons are my busiest and the months of September-November are my busiest months during the year. I will be in touch with you about the progress of your album during the time you are waiting. If you are waiting for a wedding album, it can take anywhere between a month to two months for gallery delivery depending on the time of the year.
Wait... what if it rains the day of my session?
Clouds and overcast weather are our friend on session days! As long as it’s not raining and won't damage my equipment… we are good to go. However, if it does rain or if the weather isn’t ideal for your outdoor session (i.e. wind, sleet, etc.) we can reschedule your session at no additional cost or take the session indoors at my studio location if nearby. If you wish to cancel your session due to the weather, your non-refundable deposit will not be refunded. However, your deposit can still go towards another session of your choice or can be returned in the form of a gift certificate. I do also offer indoor sessions at my studio location. Do you do destination weddings and elopements?
YES! As someone who loves to travel, I would go anywhere for my clients. If you book a destination wedding or an elopement, you will receive a special rate on your wedding package. The only additional thing required is that travel and lodging must be provided by the client. Message me to plan your destination wedding or elopement!
